Improving our stance on SSL ciphers

Protecting the security our users and platform at AppNexus is one of our most important tasks, which is why starting the week of November 7, 2016 AppNexus will be deprecating the use of RC4 and Diffie-Hellman 1024 SSL ciphers. Both of these ciphers have been shown to be weak (https://weakdh.org/ and http://www.isg.rhul.ac.uk/tls/) and are no longer supported by modern browsers.

We’re making the change to both maintain the high security standards you’ve come to expect from AppNexus, and because use of these ciphers on our platform has dwindled to less than 0.12% of total traffic. After extensive testing we anticipate a smooth transition, and no negative impacts to our customers.
